IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUYERS (all links will open in a new window to make navigation easy)
Believe it or not, finding a never-worn gown at a once-worn price isn't all that uncommon thanks to the phenomenon known as a "two-dress" bride. "We see a lot of brides having a change of heart about their dress," says The Knot's Murray. "A lot of times the dress is the first thing you buy and then seven months later you don't like it anymore." The solution for many brides: Buy your new dream dress and sell the first one, often at a massive discount. Be prepared to pay for alterations though. Even brand new wedding gowns never worn almost always need alternations as they are cut for women 5'8"!
As always when buying something from the Internet, you should take steps to protect yourself during the purchase. If you have found a wedding dress on our site, congratulations! We are excited for you. There are steps you should take first:
Know the gown's retail price. Go to the designer's website, online wedding retailers, or to your local bridal shop to check out the gown's retail price. Researching this price will help you negotiate the amount for which you purchase the gown. Ask the seller for a copy of her original receipt if she has it. Check our "
how to price a used wedding dress
" page. It is a guideline only. Of course some wedding gowns will be exclusive and merit higher prices.
Ask specific questions about the condition of the gown and any flaws or defects that may exist. Ask the seller to send you photos from every angle if necessary.
Protect yourself during the money exchange:
Here are things you can do:-
If you're buying online, pay with a credit card through PayPal so you can dispute the charges in case the seller doesn't deliver. PayPal has a "dispute resolution center" to help you resolve problems like paying for merchandise that was never received or significantly different than what was described.
For transactions under $1000, pay with PayPal. Paying with PayPal is free for the buyer (the seller pays a small fee) and offers purchase protection for up to $1000.

You can also pay cash on delivery, by requesting shipment with UPS COD service. When this service is used, the seller ships the gown to you (via UPS) and you pay UPS when the gown arrives. UPS then in turn forwards the payment to the seller.
